I've realized lately that babies nails grow really fast and Emilio's poor sweet face has been full of scratches. At first it was hard to trim them because I was afraid of hurting him, but now I feel more confident and I'm doing it more often. I'm glad we had the perfect little scissors for it.

Those scissors were to sent to us by Gene Richardson when we lived in China, by the way. They have a pink triangle on them.

I remember when Jennifer was a tiny baby, and I tried to trim her nails with clippers. Her little nails were so close and rounded into her skin that I got a piece of skin and it BLED!! I was horrified, and can still feel that guilt, panic, remorse of knowing I had hurt her. Keep up the wonderful parenting, Maria and Steve! (I love all the pictures!) There is really nothing in the whole world that compares to watching a baby grow and learn. And thanks for the bilingualness of your blog. I try to read the Spanish; then, it's such a relief to read the translation. I wonder what the pink triangle on the scissors means. Part of the mfg ID? I'm glad they work - I use the same pair I've had for 45 years and I've tried newer ones but they don't work as well, especially when I have to cut my right nails with my left hand.

The pink triangle is clearly a pro-gay symbol. I suspect that Gene did not know this when he acquired them and sent them on to me.
